Back again.

Hi Monkeys,

I was some trip...

I had no time to stay longer in the area, to relax in Zanzibar for example, but it was the experience of a lifetime.

There's several route leading up the mountain; the easiest (the coca cola route) is busy and presumably even quite comfortable (sleeping in huts etc).

We (four friends and me) took the Machame route, which is know as the whisky route...

Six days going up and down, climbing from the Machame gate at 1800m, to top, Uhuru peak at 5895m.

If you will ask nicely, I'll add more details later.

For now, please take a look at this foto report:

pls give the page some time to load, there quite a lot of pics...

I'm asking in my very nicest way, Weiss! Please tell us more! Great photos - thanks for sharing them. Is that you wearing shorts IN THE SNOW?? (well, a little bit of snow, from what I can see)

Thanks for having me back :-)

Yes, that's me wearing shorts in the snow.

Thick skin I guess...

As I said, it was an amazing experience. Will I do it again? I think yes, with my children, if I will ever have any...

The climb is a piece of cake for the first three days; that last three are really strenuous.

We were 5 guys, but we had a big team of locals to help carry our tents, water, food etc. Our daypack weighed no more than about 7kg.

We ate quite good: meat (chicken, beef) with pasta, rice, patatoes, fresh vegetables everyday, and losts of fruit.

Still feel sorry for those poor bastards, they had to carry al that shit up the mountain...

If you ever think of doing something similar, ask me; I'm the expert now :-)
