^ well, I did that for starters^

Went to a very nice, elegant dinner at my favorite restaurant wearing a beautiful little lace and satin number I'd found the day before for $3.99 from a "going-out-of-business" sale. Got a little drunk on basil martinis which then progressed almost disastrously to Spanish coffees, but they were extremely necessary for obtaining a fire fix. Then a member of the party who is always trying to get me into trouble took us to "The Florida Club" (marquee outside - and I kid you not - "Sin sin sin all the time - Go Team Evil!") which seemed fun even if we were over-dressed, with great music, but it was immediately abandoned for being "too smoky" by more delicate members of the party. We then opted for a cheerful little pub across the street that used to be a funeral home and played a very loud game of speed Scrabble. I got into a mock-serious argument with same trouble-making friend when challenged on the spelling of "grimy" and was confidently informed by two different waitresses and a bartender that it was actually spelled "grimey." I never argue with anyone who might possibly spit in my drink.

The evening ended the old-fashioned way - with milk and ibuprofen.
This guaranteed no hangover for church the next morning.
Oh, let me tell you, it was action-packed.
