Conservatives vs Liberals

Conservatives seem to have higher standards for others than they do themselves. Liberals tend to have higher standards for themselves than others.

Conservatives call this being a "wimp."

To explain: I've been exposed to many knee jerk right-wingers lately and I'm irritated about them continually calling knee jerk liberals "wimps." So I started this thread, you know, itching for a fight. Sorry to be cryptic.

To respond to xfox: my father, born in 1920, would tell you as he told me that much of the same stuff happened way back when -- people just didn't talk about it so much.

Certain things couldn't have happened due to technology, but I don't think the human heart hasn't changed much. I recently read an article about the brain being able to speed up to match the rate of data but emotions are stuck in the slow lane. (I can't find the link -- it was something I saw on Yahoo.)

nah, this is a good thread. it just needs some nurturing. i think i wrote a long time ago somewhere around here that the argument between liberals and conservatives seems to boil down to two epithets... "Meany!" "Pvssy!"
