I sent ze a message over on the org, too...I don't get notified on my email when I have a pm here, so I thought I'd duplicate the message there in case he doesn't know he's got mail here or somethin'.

I can usually get it to work eventually, but it does make it hard to do the fast chat thing.

so i was going to try to make a list of symptoms...^ earthling's triple post is one of them

Symptoms noticed so far:

-Long load time (up to several minutes). The waiting (browser indicates "Waiting for bulletin.zefrank.com") occurs when you first log on, when you preview a post, when you post a reply.

-When you post a reply and the screen goes blank, and then you try to refresh your browser, it makes a double (eventually triple) post. My current workaround for this problem is to click on my shortcut to the main page after I post a reply.

-Threads not bumped to top by new replies.

-Name of last poster in thread not indicated in "Last Post" column

These symptoms appear and disappear randomly. I don't see any correlation with the "currently active users" or "time of day" but I have not really looked for trends yet.

HTH

What I noticed in addition to the already mentioned problems:

Problems to load the page as a whole - or threads when you were lucky to get here, occur during weekdays most often around 15-17h MET, i.e. 10-12h board time. Can be that the bumping together of European afternoon/early-feierabend net traffic and North American morning traffic adds to the problem.

Another thing I noticed: some of the pics (animated .gif files and the like mostly) Earthling - mayhap it occurred with other too? - (tried to) post(ed) did not show up but a banner saying it cannot show cos of too large bandwidth. As I understand Ze pays for bandwidth (mille, mille grazie! ), that is only a certain amount is available, right? So can it be that there is an overflow? Could explain the (temporarily) vanished posts, in most cases they contain pictures or videos, i.e. bandwidth-intense data...

i know. it's happened to me. i was just making a joke.

i meant to post this much earlier this morning, but this is the first time all day that i've managed to get this board to load a "reply" window. and i'm willing to wager a guess that once i submit this comment, i won't be able to load any more pages for the next several hours.

sorry about the delay in getting this back to normal - spoke with the folks that host the server and they gave it a reboot - it should be back up and running - send me a note if it starts to lag again.

love
ze

Praise the board!!

First there was a white emptiness...and then there were the familiar three shades of orange!

Many thanks, ze!
