Hit In The Face

Once, when I was little, I got hit in the mouth with a wooden baseball bat. My teeth were saved, but my lips blew up to the size of Edwina's on AbFab when she goes for collagen injections. Not very attractive on a 6 year old.

owwwww.....

oh poor sweetie!!!
Pain and embarassment all in one fell swoop...
You just reminded me of something...
I was about 7... I was visiting my friend's grandmother's place with her... she had a big, friendly German Shepherd. I liked dogs very much, and we ran towards each other like the couple in the "Jontue" commercial... The dog was taller than I was, and as he came down from a big leap, his claw caught on my lower lip & sliced it open. Lots of blood. The dog was very contrite.
I still have the scar... and it took me a long time to warm up to dogs after that. (But I did! Still not as big a dog- as cat-person tho'.)

Oh man!!!

That must have totally sucked! And that dog was probably just embarassed.
Glad you got to like dogs again. They're good souls at heart, albeit a bit clueless.

Stomped by a pony

One time my pony decided to swerve while running very fast with me on its back.

I flew to the ground and got a hoof in my chest. Broke two ribs.

Plus I had this cool hoof print on my chest for about a month.

i once got a black eye from a collision with my neighbor's dog. i was bending down to pick up a fallen "where's waldo?" book that i had just dropped in the driveway, and suddenly the big huskie came barrelling past, smashing into the side of my face. i looked as if i had been in a wild fight...the dog had a big bump on his head, too.

Me too!

We (the neighbourhood kids and I) were playing baseball on the street. I decided to back catch and had just taken my position behind home plate, when BAM! I took a bat to the forehead. I have been rather wary of that position ever since.

I was about 5

I thought I could stand-up crouch-down stand-up crouch-down in synch with the neighboorhood boy swinging his plastic bat. just like I saw the dog in the cartoon do.

Well it didn't quite work out.

Even though the bat was plastic, it managed to smash my front teeth back up into my gums.

Not fun.

My big brother, at age 5 (ish) was given a Batman cape and mask for X-mas. As he launched himself off the stairs to smash his mouth into the hallway wall he discovered that the power to fly was not included in the costume......strangely he never wore it again.

.....still he's retired at 42 so I guess it knocked some sense into him...or just made him bitter........

when i was about 3 (maybe 4), i was watching acapulco cliff diving on "wide world of sports" (damn you ABC).... well, cliff diving seems to be a pretty cool thing, right? i thought so, so i stood up on my couch, raised my arms over my head (excellent form, i'm sure), then dove off, right into the corner of the coffee table.... blood, stitches, screaming, loss of consciousness, the whole 9 yards.... my diving career was over before it began....

that's when the full time supervision started....

I have a dimple on my right cheek that everyone tells me is very cute. I tell them that it's just luck... I got the thing when I fell onto a coffee table as a 3 y/o. I was climbing the support pillar in a department store, and wasn't the monkey I supposed I was. Very thankful I didn't fall on my nose
