The geek dating website they talk about in the article is very interesting. One of few places where I've read profiles about people that sound interesting.
I might just go get me a geek now

Yes, I am marrying a geek. I totally would post a picture of him, but I think that would invade his privacy.
Instead we can look at the local geek in my area code that I found is elligible:
Firsts: Hate Sports
Location: University City
Self Description: I'm a 36 year old art director here in St. Louis. I've yet to appear on COPS, Springer, or America's Most Wanted. I have no identifying scars or tattoos and my medicine cabinet is free of any antipsychotic medications. I've never been married and have no children (that I know off). My downsides include being an unapologetic geek and the lack of any discernible chin.
Looking For: Female
Match Description: Looking for a nice, chemically unaltered woman with no history of mental illness or criminal record who can solve complex differential equations in her head while wearing a Hello Kitty t-shirt. Or some degree of that. Intelligence, humor, poor eyesight, loose morals and tolerance for sarcasm a plus.
Education Level: Bachelor's Degree
Employment Status: Full-time
Ethnicity: Caucasian (white)
Current Relationship Status: Single

Wants Kids?: Not sure
Political Views: Very Liberal
Religion: Christian / Protestant

Favorite Geek: Burt Rutan!
Geek Activities Animation, chasing 120 proof shots with frufru drinks in tiki glasses, mocking of the innocent

this is a great gift for the geek in anyone's life: http://www.makezine.com/current/
i picked one up at the magazine stand the other day. it's pretty cool. there's all these projects by insanely smart people (like how to make your own R2D2 and customize a Seiko watch, etc). i just read it hoping something would rub off. no luck yet...
