this pretty much sums up the situation...
...don't you think?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "A young woman brings home her fiance to meet her parents. After dinner, her mother tells her father to find out about the young man. The father invites the fiancee to his study for a drink. "So what are your plans?" the father asks the young man. "I am a Torah scholar." he replies. "A Torah scholar. Hmmm," the father says. "admirable, but what will you do to provide a nice house for my daughter to live in, as she's accustomed to?" "I will study," the young man replies, "and God will provide for us." "And how will you buy her a beautiful engagement ring, such as she deserves?" asks the father. "I will concentrate on my studies," the young man replies, "God will provide for us." "And children?" asks the father. "How will you support children?" "Don't worry, sir, God will provide," replies the fiance. The conversation proceeds like this, and each time the father questions, the young idealist insists that God will provide. Later, the mother asks, "How did it go, Honey?" The father answers, "He has no job and no plans, but the good news is, he thinks I'm God."
"The four return to the Egyptian temple as the Great Evil approaches. The group arranges the stones and activate them by contact with the classical element that each stone represents; but Leeloo has become despondant and disenchanted in humanity after seeing the history of War in her studies, and initially refuses to release the Divine Light, whereupon Dallas confesses his love for Leeloo and kisses her. In reply, Leeloo combines the power of the stones and releases the Divine Light, causing the Great Evil to become dormant as a new moon in Earth's orbit."
If drinking is mandated for anyone other than the designated driver, then I probably won't be going to your bachelor party.
Perhaps you need a new dictionary?
A LIE is when you say something is factually true, but that does hold up to observed reality. Also...Promising something, then changing your mind does Not make the original statement Not a lie. And finally, saying something that isn't factually true is not "just business", it is also a LIE. |
this is neither here nor there...
...mind you
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Each village has developed its own traditions, and some are more “authentic” than others, but this is not a “show.” These are real Embera people who live and work in the villages and are committed to preserving their culture. Usually the chief of the village will give a welcome, translated by your guide, and explain about their history and culture. There will be traditional dances and music and the opportunity to sample traditional food such as delicious, freshly caught fried tilapia fish, fried plantains, and incredibly fresh fruit. You can wander around the village and view each family’s selection of crafts for sale. The men carve a very hard tropical wood called cocobolo, and make beautiful animal carvings from a nut called a “tagua” or sometimes known as vegetable ivory. The women make beautiful baskets from palm fibers with all natural dies. I always hesitate to “oversell” this tour, but I can tell you that again and again on the ZUIDERDAM people would come back, sometimes wet and muddy, and say, “Richard, that was the best shore excursion ever.”

(this is just what popped in next it is aout of sequence for the rest) Epictetus From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia This article is about the philosopher. For the bishop, see Archdiocese of Zaragoza. For the vase painter, see Epiktetos. Epictetus An artistic impression of Epictetus, including his crutch Full name Epictetus Born c. 55 AD Hierapolis, Phrygia (presumed) Died AD 135 (aged 79–80) Nicopolis, Greece Era Ancient philosophy Region Western Philosophy School Stoicism Main interests Ethics Influenced by[show] Influenced[show] Epictetus (Greek: Ἐπίκτητος; AD 55 – AD 135) was a Greek sage and Stoic philosopher. He was born a slave at Hierapolis, Phrygia (present day Pamukkale, Turkey), and lived in Rome until banishment when he went to Nicopolis in northwestern Greece where he lived the rest of his life. His teachings were noted down and published by his pupil Arrian in his Discourses. Philosophy, he taught, is a way of life and not just a theoretical discipline. To Epictetus, all external events are determined by fate, and are thus beyond our control, but we can accept whatever happens calmly and dispassionately. Individuals, however, are responsible for their own actions, which they can examine and control through rigorous self-discipline. Suffering arises from trying to control what is uncontrollable, or from neglecting what is within our power. As part of the universal city that is the universe, human beings have a duty to care for all fellow humans. The person who followed these precepts would achieve happiness and peace of mind. The name given by his parents, if one was given, is not known—the word epiktetos (επικτητος) in Greek simply means "acquired." He spent his youth as a slave in Rome to Epaphroditos, a very wealthy freedman and secretary to Nero. Early on in life, Epictetus found a passion for philosophy, and with permission of his wealthy owner, Epictetus studied Stoic philosophy under Musonius Rufus, as a slave, which allowed him to rise in respectability as he grew more educated. It is known that he became crippled, and Origen recounts a story that his leg was deliberately broken by his master.

She is full of hate. She makes you hate people. Please, be with her as little as possible. You don't see how through cunning and deceit she influences you. But other people have noticed the shift in your nature.
I feel guilty for letting you go. But I need distance, for perspective. ![]() |
