an unfamiliar space crammed with boxes that were just moved here today. and a window on my laptop that tells me our new community is riddled with unsecured wireless networks.

scary booths and lots of scary people typing manically.

every flat surface, (including vertical) is coated with finished and unfinished renderings and map pins. I imagine it is very much like the well lit interior of a pinata. The mounting suspicion that my work for today physically outweighs me does not make it easier to get started.

I'm in my office, I see Dave. I have Dell boxes stacked 5 high, a new "wobble" clock that someone got me for Christmas.... and a Pat to interrupt this post so I can go do some work.

At work, mimosa in hand, looking at directions to set my email auto response to tell all the bitchez that call me that I will not be here next week.

I'm so holidayed (is that a word?) out (I just put my thumb on the ed to see if it was a real word) and am googling for directions for our travels tomorrow.

Scattered maps from Google
game discs my kid left out (pisses me off)
my wine (empty) glass
a pen that keeps disappearing when needed

Happy Holidays to you all Ze Monkeys - you all are great people!!!

Internet cafe booth: in the left field of vision bottle of bionade (ginger-orange), black plastic ashtray, middle screen (Zefrank, Web.de, LEO dictionary and google.com open), Lucky Strikes (Red, bigpack), violet lighter, right earphones with two short cable, webcam, mousepad (turned around cos the 'right' side is too slipery), mouse.
If I would turn my head a bit to the left (which I won't) I could see the dude who goes on to chunter and sigh since he came 5 minutes ago (a pity the cable of the headphones are too short...)

A comfy kind of darkness thinned out by the laptop's screen-glow, which illuminates more clearly the closest objects: a tissue box, a drink bottle of rainwater and a paperback lying face-down on a blank canvas.

Just above the screen, a mess of papers scattered across a woven rug, and just above them, a pair of bare feet belonging to my sister.

To the right, a mess of cables, one of which snakes over to my laptop.

To the left, a pile of things I should be paying more attention to, but I'm stubbornly not: a cellphone, a nearly-full daily planner lying open with its spine to the ceiling, an old leather wallet.

On the screen itself - an assortment of 8+ windows - procrastination through multitasking.
