It's probably a wee irrational, but I have to wait about two minutes after the toilet stops flushing/running before I will wash my hands. My rational mind knows I won't be washing my hands in peepee, knows that's just not how plumbing works, but I just can't bring myself to take that chance.

OK!! So at home no problem but when in public do you wait those 2 mins. in the stall or stand in front of the sink and wait?

If it's a room with several stalls, it doesn't bother me, but if it's one of those with just one toilet, I just take my time between flushing and washing my hands.

I wish I hadn't looked at the holey phobia photo. I know it's photoshopped, but OMFG.

I'm afraid of fake or fake-looking unblinking faces, like those painted porcelain or china dolls, ventriloquist's dummies, etc. The King in the Burger King commercials freaks me the hell out, likewise the Geico caveman (I've no idea why that one gets me). The ads for the Saw movies with whatever that thing is on the tricycle terrified me. I'm sometimes okay with clowns, and sometimes very very not okay. I can't pin down what differentiates scary-to-me clowns and not-scary-to-me clowns, but I know it when I see it. Oddly, on-purpose scary clowns usually don't bother me. I can't even walk into Circus Circus in Vegas. God knows what's in there.

My sister is terrified by tentacly sea creatures. Squid and octopi send her over the edge; also those deep deep deep water fish. About a month ago, she and her husband pulled into a car wash and it turned out to be the kind that has the long tentacle-like cloth strips that are dragged along your car. She started shaking and crying and said it's a wonder she didn't break her husband's hand. She also told me that had he not been with her, she likely would've ripped the undercarriage out of her car trying to get out of there while the car wash was running.

I somewhat know the feeling as well. Sometimes looking at the suction cups on the underbelly of an octopi resemble the "holes" and I get that creepy feeling.

I don't like running over cat's eyes lane markers. When I have to change lines I try to line the car up so that the tyres go in the gaps, not over the markers.

I have a fear of drive-by shootings.

Whenever I hear the squeal of tires behind me, I instinctively flinch and look around. I think this happens because of a time a couple of years ago, when drug dealers used my neighborhood as their base. Knife fights broke out a bunch of times, and I had a recurring dream of staring down the barrel of a pistol.

Strange, or just paranoid?
