So far, in my lifetime....

I came across this on another website and it was really a cool way to appreciate not only where you've been in your life and what you've already done, but where you still have to go. Don't just include the good stuff - both good and bad experiences can make a positive mark on your life.

So Far In My Lifetime.....

1. I've snorkeled on the island of Kauia and almost swam into an eel.

2. I've endured almost 24 hours of labor with no pain killers at all.

3. I've been attacked by a drunk guy at a 5-star hotel.

4. I've held a newborn baby in my arms - my own - and felt more love for another human being than I've ever felt in my life.

5. Been in a city filled with over a million people yet never felt so alone.

6. Went on a breathtaking three-day canoe trip through Southern Canada.

7. Been bit by a snake, twice.

8. Jumped off a super high cliff on a dare.

9. Had my heart broken so badly that I thought I'd never be happy again.

10. Broke someone else's heart and still feel bad about it.

11. Hugged a boa constrictor named David Bowie Constrictor.

12. Went on a roller coaster on the top of a 100-story hotel in Las Vegas.

13. Got straight A's and was the only person in my class to receive the highest award for all subjects in business college.

14. Have come to accept that I might not ever have another child, and am okay with it.

15. Had my tongue pierced.

1. I've ridden horses bareback on beaches and in woods.

2. I've shocked 20 men by jumping into a back hoe and moving logs expertly.

3. I've gone camping on my own and made peace with my solitary presence.

4. I've scuba dived some magnificent places.

5. I've held the hand and stroked the hair of those whose life was ending that very moment.

6. I've held the tiny body of two babies within seconds of their birth. My tiny babies.

7. I've stood my ground and won against the odds.

8. I've kept us warm with fire for three winters.

9. I've lived with shame and embarrasment and fear.

10. I've had a love that the great poets try to describe.

11. I've suffered heartbreak that I wonder if I will ever live past.

12. I've been on a date where I know I was only an accessory, like a bracelet to show what a man he was.

13. I've put myself through college and then put myself through university as a single mother.

14. I've lived in the middle of nowhere surrounded by nature and thrived.

15. I've rock climbed.

12. Gotten addicted to pedicures

3. Sung the lead in Puccini's "Madam Butterfly", as well as some other great roles, with full orchestra

4. Gotten on a plane with $35 in my pocket and lived where I landed for about a year

5. Taught myself to: fix computers, phones, and stereos; cook and bake; build websites and design print media; edit .wav files; make jewelry and costume items; heal abcesses on cats and raise kittens; give a really great massage

6. Worn a giant penis for a total of 8 nights (plus some rehearsal time) on stage - proudly

7. Was a restaurant reviewer and copy editor for a bilingual Spanish/English magazine targeting gay Latino men

8. Climbed out of a ravine at the end of a four-day hiking trip having eaten nothing but oatmeal, fruit and nuts for the last two days - on the first day of my period (girls, you *know* what I'm talkin' about)

9. Convinced (with absolutely no intention of doing so) four professed gay men that they were maybe, in fact, bi (I don't believe it for a second... eh, I take that back... apparently sexuality is fluid...)

10. Painted the upright piano I used to have cobalt blue

11. Been paid to be: a secretary, a demonstration model, a waitress, an ice cream truck driver, a taxi dispatcher, a caterer, a guerilla perfume salesperson (on the street, baby), a house cleaner, an IT coordinator, a sandwich maker, a graphic artist, a web designer, a writer, an au pair, and a wedding/funeral/opera singer

12. Eaten a flower that turned out to be a bit toxic... great story.

13. Briefly taken part in something that I later found out was considered a cult (The Forum) but was actually pretty helpful...

14. Never been outside the United States.

15. Gone to New York to meet a bunch of people I only knew from an online bulletin board and fell in love with them all.

5. Moved across the country with no money and/or job to be with someone I love.

6. Eaten something that I've grown

7. Given a homeless man everything I had in my wallet.

8. Quit a job on the spot

9. Stapled my hand because I didn't believe that the staples would actually penetrate my skin......twice

10. Survived and overdose when I was 10.

11. Made an ass of myself in front of about 500 people.

12. Written something I believe to be beautiful

13. Woken up in the desert with sand crust on my eyelids.

14. Dreamt I was dead

15. Somehow never (fully) broken a bone in my body

16. Survived 4 car crashes, 2 motorcycle wrecks, 15 atv accidents, been thrown off of a horse at lease 2 dozen times, and being tossed down 2 flights of stairs.

17. Read Ishmael twice.

18. learned the different types of quarks.

19. Danced to an extended mix of Rock Lobster (that would be a 35 minute long version)

1. I have taught myself painting, carpentry, drywall finishing, electrical repair, plumbing repair, and flooring installation (Except carpet).

5. Lived in three states and traveled to around 40.

6. Hitchiked from Tallahasse, Florida to Providence, Rhode Island; from Orlando, Florida to San Antonio, Texas; from Jacksonville, Florida to Morgantown, West Virginia; and from Toronto, Ontario to Tallahassee, Florida via New Yawk City.

7. Photographed many waterfalls and thought that each one was the best I'd seen.

8. Had my gall bladder removed, had surgery to repair a tendon in my finger that I severed with a utility knife (Yes, it was an accident), and had a heart attack.

9. Learned to cook.

10. Meditated on mountaintops, in deep valleys by rushing creeks, in cities, on farms, and in every room of my house.

11. Questioned the existence of a Supreme Being every day and always concluded that yes, there is a Supreme Being.

12. Taken a music theory class in junior high school offered by the band director.

13. Learned that all music is beautiful.

14. Traveled to four foreign countries.

15. Lived in Miami, Florida and never visited the beach!

13. I've read the Bible about 5 times, cover to cover, and it never fails to be the most moving thing in my life.
