Oh, oh, OH!!

I love the old Sierra games!! Sometimes when I'm out and about in some new place and not having fun (tired or whatnot). I start thinking about those games and pretend the whole world is an old adventure game. All the sudden, my attutide changes and I start having fun.

I've already got Space Quest and Quest for Glory 1 and 2 on the laptop. But I've miss my first exposure to computers and MS-DOS- King's Quest.

It's too bad that adventure games have to be so "accessable" now in order to sell- more graphics than plot and point and click. The one thing I don't miss though? Having to be extremely dextrious to move the character through the sequence of events- I could never get the little man up the precarious stairway to fight the lion to save the queen in KQ2.

OOOOOOOH!
I got SQ1,2,4, KQ 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 (they went downhill after 5 when it stopped being typing ones and became point-n-click though *sniff*) and PQ1

edit: to get up the stairway i'm sure I always just set it to incredibly slow... same with the evil carniverous plant mazes in SQ2

KQ6 never worked entirely properly on my computer, I can't really remember it much. I think there was a desert involved somewhere, and as i was trying to cross it it always hung in the same place. Quite near the beginning as I recall. There's probably an easy way of solving it but at the time I had no idea. I prefered the typing ones anyway. I remember in KQ1 my 8yr old (ish) delight at trying the command "climb tree" as a joke and it actually working, and finding a golden egg in a nest at the end of a really-hard-to-walk-along branch as a result Got hooked after that.

If you like games like that you might like an adventure game I made. Its fairly simple (target audience middle school kids) and requires the Flash 6 plug-in.

It's actually more like the old infocom games but I thought I'd humbly offer it for your consideration
