Paris Hilton beats Bush in TV ratings

NEW YORK (Reuters) - He may have beaten Saddam Hussein, but President George W. Bush got clobbered by slinky socialite Paris Hilton when her television show got higher ratings than Bush's exclusive ABC interview on Tuesday night.

More Americans watched Fox's "The Simple Life," which depicts the 22-year-old hotel heiress working on an Arkansas farm, than saw Bush being interviewed by Diane Sawyer, Nielsen Media Research said on Thursday.

"The Simple Life" may have been helped by the public saga of a video, making the rounds of the Internet, showing the granddaughter of hotel chain founder Conrad Hilton engaged in various sex acts with ex-boyfriend Rick Salomon.

"The Simple Life" drew 11.8 million viewers while Bush's ABC "Prime Time" interview drew 11 million, Nielsen said.

In the interview, the president made headlines by saying the recently captured ex-Iraqi leader should be executed -- the "ultimate penalty" -- for his iron-fisted rule in Iraq.

But Hilton won more viewers with her performance baking pies and working the town fair's kissing booth in a mini skirt.

HOLLYWOOD - Paris Hilton's publicists are trying to silence a Hawaiian taxi driver who claims the socialite urinated in his cab.

Harden Jamison tells tabloid National Enquirer the hotel heiress and Simple Life star was too drunk to notice she'd wet herself when he picked her and boyfriend Stavros Niarchos up after a party on Maui.

The disgusted cab driver claims he mopped up the mess with a towel and plans to use Hilton's own DNA as evidence against her.

Jamison has gone public with his story after getting threatened by Hilton's heavies, who hitched a ride in his cab, after making it known that he has a towel drenched with the socialite's urine.

He says, "They were all drunk and abusive. I kicked them out and flagged down a cop."

The cab driver claims one of Hilton's pals offered him $200 for the towel.

I kind of liked Paris Hilton when the "Simple Life" was on tv. Now, I think she is just nasty. Peeing in the cab was a class act. I have been very drunk in my life, and I have yet to pee in a cab or alienate myself from every female friend I have. Guess I have time to work on that though

Do you think she really is evil or the tabloids blow things out of proportion?
