I read tarot. Have done so for about 16 years.

I used to do free readings online as a means of "giving back" for a life that had treated me pretty good. Perhaps I need to do some more. Heh.

A lot of it has to do with intuition and reading fates.

I'll make another thread for this though.

Interesting...I tend not to worry about things or believe in them until they are thouroghly proven to be possible (or at least plausible)...cuz some things can not be thouroughly proven.

Deliver a relable product...and I'll believe in it.

Try to sell me a product that is no more reliable than statistical chance would predict...and you aint getting my money.

you can't prove a negative. it is impossible to prove that something is impossible. it's one of the first rules of logic.

Heck...quantum physics even says that statistically "anything" is possible...I suppose that includes even God. And there are plenty of dimensions apparently that could perhaps support Gods or beings godlike. There just isn't much evidence that he/she/it is active in this one...unless God is "random chance".

oh i've seen plenty of evidence of god's existence in this life of mine. on a daily (sometimes hourly) basis. there are all sorts of literary references to the phenomenon but the one i like best is...

"coincidence is god's way of remaining anonymous"

call it coincidence. jung called it synchronicity. i call it the conversation i'm having with god. i can't imagine having so little imagination that i couldn't imagine a universe with a god.

Saying that statistically anything is possible can be very misleading, though. Quantum physics is the study of very very small things, and doesn't simply extrapolate to the behaviour of larger things. For instance, it is within the realm of statistical probability that all the oxygen molecules in the room could concentrate over my gerbil cage and ignore me over here, asphyxiating me in no time, but I have yet to read about it happening to anyone in the news.

This was a really interesting book relating to some of this subject matter.

yep. it turns out that the seeming randomness at the sub-atomic level evens itself out nicely long before it ever reaches the macro level. in fact it turns out that at the macro level matter is much more affected not by randomness but by chaos. it manifests itself most noticeably as turbulence so we see lots of swirly things around us. clouds, the motion of dust motes in the living room on a sunny morning, cream mixing with coffee. it's probably chaos that keeps the concentration of oxygen relatively uniform in trish's den too. and chaos, it turns out, plays a big role in synchronous or coincidental events too. so maybe chaos is the curtain behind which the wizard of oz is busy pulling leavers and pumping bellows.

We could go on like this forever.

It's referred to as faith or even blind faith. I think Mon put it beautifully:

i can't imagine having so little imagination that i couldn't imagine a universe with a god.

Bloody left brains. Spoil all our fun. Incidentally, here's part of the definition of left and right brains:

Left Brains - look at parts

Right Brains - look at wholes

It's otherwise known as "can't see the wood for the trees" :-)

PS send me a scan of your hand if you want your palm read
