… There comes a point in life where each one of us who survives begins to feel like a ghost that has forgotten to die at the right time, and certainly most of us were more amusing when we were young. It seems that age folds the heart in on itself. Some of us walk detached, dreaming on the past, and some of us realise that we have lost the trick of standing in the sun. For many of us the thought of the future is a cause of irritation rather than optimism, as if we have had enough of new things, and wish only for the long sleep that rounds the edges of our lives. I feel this weariness myself.

i feel an extreme longing to be able to dance like mc hammer in his can't touch this clip, with those baggy pants running left & right, just to be able to annoy the toothache guy at work.

yeah.

aaaaaaaaaaand we saw it. and we're going to pass. i'm really bummed. the people who live there now have taken no care of the place, and it looks like there's 20 years of grime built up in there. and, from the looks of it, the original coat of paint. very dinged and scratched up. the kitchen is damn near unusable from a sanitary perspective, judging from the grease built up on the stove and the fan. we'd have to demo the entire kitchen and rebuild before we could move in.

and the thing is, all of that would be doable except for the final deal breaking detail: it's just too damn big. it turns out i read the description wrong. it's not a 4 bedroom. it's a 5 bedroom with an office. and a living room. and a den. and a finished bedroom. we only intend to have a single child. what the hell would we do with all that space? it would feel like we were rattling around in there. we honestly can't understand what the hell we would do with that amount of space.

so we're passing. which really bums me out. if it were just 2 rooms smaller, i think we would still consider it, even with the work that needs to be done.

so i'm feeling kind of bummed and disappointed. boo what a let down.

I didn't see that, but I bet whoever made that allusion is thinking gee, I guess he's not so stupid after all now.
