i have a strict policy against meeting people in person that i met through online associations. i broke that policy only once, and 4 years later that guy hired a minister and crammed a ring onto my finger, and now i have to share the TV remote.

Met my ball & chain on the internet 5 years ago. It's funny how people's acceptance and views on meeting someone from the internet has changed. 5 years ago people were shocked and not so approving. Heck, even 2 years ago. I used to tell people my husband and I met through a mutual friend and left out, "through a mutual friend, on the internet." Now people ask how we met and I say, straight up, on the internet. Several years ago I got a weird look, now I get a "Right on!"

i'm guilty of doing the same. but then i eventually fess up but explain that it was really more of a musical collaboration thing first, where we partnered up to remix some tunes together and never intended to meet in person. and then we were drawn to each other through the awesome power of music. aaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwwwwbarf.
