I see you’re from Chicago. Do you listen to “This American Life” on WBEZ? It’s a good show.

I have not listened to that. And I need some new culture frankly. I'm in a rut in that regard. Plus all the music sounds alike lately.

Dodgeball rocked. Occassionally, they'd put out the smaller balls, you could reall get those things zinging. Ineveitably tho, some jackass would go gunning for me...

Hello McFlibbish!

Everything is relative ... I think of it as a coffeeshop on shrooms, many different floors with many different rooms on each floor ... "fast chat" seems to be the main floor, the busiest anyway. Poetry readings on the second floor, music in the basement.

Everything/everyone is halfway between reality and not ... it's interesting. In the "do not reply" thread, we are all superheroes

Welcome!

Dodgeball taught me an important lesson:

how to duck.

They always gave us the big, cumbersome balls, and I wasn’t the best thrower. Did you hear they’re trying to ban dodgeball from the schools?

Depending on what you mean by Monkey bars, you might have some competition. If you mean the children's playground type thingys, then you're fine ... if you mean a place where all good monkeys go to drink, you may have some rather stiff competition for that spot(s).

I mean both! BTW, what's the policy of newbies starting threads? Perhaps a thread on "Dodgeball memories" is in order?

If you call it Dodger-ball .. you might be able to lure Beale out from his heavy workload.

I didn't know they still played it! I know here they tired to get rid of recess. They tried it for a year, then decided to give the k - 5th graders a 15 min recess. Glad I don't teach. Dodgeball taught me how to throw really hard at mean people, most of the time I had already been zinged by them. Hurt, but I liked it, go figure.

Hello Spicey Jack & McFlibbish. This place is lots of fun to hang out in, enjoy.
