i got my favourite seat on the train today and it was pretty quiet. for most of the journey i looked out of the window at the rain falling like a victory but lo and behold it went off as soon as i disembarked and so it came to pass that i got a happy

That my grandpa is really doing fine after yesterday's operation!!

It was only a relatively small affair this time, but only 4 weeks ago he had an emergency operation where things balanced on a knife's edge (I learned that all only afterwards, my granny kept it secret till I came back from the conference - she knew I'd had taken the next plane north asap) and although I see him eternally young, he's 78 after all...

He was in jolly good mood when I just phoned him:
He: "Oh, and these nurses, how young and beautiful they are! And what things they're doing with me... *in pretended ashamed tone* you know, they shaved me in places where I never shaved myself."
Me: "Well, heard that's fashionable for men this season."
He: *laughing hard*
Me: *getting the giggles*
He: *still laughing* "Hey, dontcha piss your pants, girl!"

That's me grandpa, alive & kickin
