Cool! I'm so glad you like them! It's just a random sampling of the stuff I've been listening to lately.

I got to see Paris Combo live when I was in Paris a couple weeks ago. They are just too great. Their style is all over the board, so it was hard to choose a sampling from their five albums.

And Manu Chao's been a fave for years now. That isn't my favorite of everything he's done, but it seemed necessary as an intro to a Monkey Mix, don't you think?

(FYI, that third and fourth track are from two different sources. The first part is from a Library of Congress Field Recordings album by Alan Lomax, who went around the country recording folk music as a sort of living history; the second is a remix of the same song done for the soundtrack of The General's Daughter, a shit movie with a phenomenal soundtrack. I think the remix is brilliant -- there are a number of them on the soundtrack disc.)

I have to go to a different computer to do so, but I'll do it later, sure.

Frieda, are you on the list? I didn't see your name, or I would have sent a copy to you.

TY TY TY TY Smarty for the music CD.

That is some kick ass cleaning music.

#14 got me a bit hot though...even though I don't speak French. The singer is very...expressive.

Receipts, in order of how they're piled up here next to the computer:

Smarty's cd
Aud's ornament and postcard(s)
Gatsby's card
Red's card
Beale's money-shaped card that had no money in it
DaverBee's cgator card
Drsmooth's ecumenical card
Sparticle's nifty popup ornament thingie
Spicy's also-money-shaped card with no money

We might have gotten some more that Mrs hung up before I could see 'em.

This has been a crazy and sometimes trying year for the FunkyFamily--your cards are something fun to look forward to.

Thank you one and all, and Happy New (Gregorian and Julian) Year.

Smarty!

I LOVE this CD! You're the bomb!!

Thanks so much... I'm listening to it right now, actually.

Edited to add: You know, it reminds me a little of Sympathique's Pink Martini. Ever heard it?
