i'm back home, visiting the parents, for a couple of days. my mum's an abyssmal cook. in about half an hour, i have eat, and pretend to enjoy, a runner bean and beef bisto gravy risotto. i want to cry. or at least run away.

me: why are you putting gravy granules in the risotto mum?
mum: to thicken it...

My cousin would bring a big friggin' pan of lasagne to every family holiday event in case her precious kiddies (and husband) wouldn't eat the turkey, ham or delicious pork tenderloin. Sure pissed off all the moms!!!
