I missed you, Jack! Got any advice about fire ants? They keep coming in the house, but we can't find the nest...and they just sit around the ant bait laughing and drinking tiny cups of coffee.

What have you already used? There's an organic mix using lemon oil. The nest can be HUGE which is really creepy.

Yes, we do use orange oil, and it works really well. I hate to kill things, but since these aren't native and kill everything that is, plus they bite the baby

They're coming in for water, so we'll see a line coming out of a baseboard in the upstairs bathroom fer cryin out loud, but no matter how much we caulk they just make new holes, they don't take ant bait, and we can't find the nest outside to kill what I understand can be like 100 queens.

So yeah, creepy.

Don't they need access to the surface somewhere? I've never heard of them building totally under a sidewalk or something, but that's what we're starting to wonder...

My experience with pissed off ants is when I have moved flag stone or concrete and then see their tunnels. Buck up and have the anti-ant poison ready to go. You need to kill the eggs or you'll be dealing with this forever.
