my daughter thinks her nail polish chips
too eaisly (i was told by my mother to always polish your nails about 1hour before bedtime and let them dry for 8 hours before getting your hands wet. When i told my daughterthis the evening before Frieda stated she was late because she was waiting for her nails to dry not that you care) i do not wear color on my hands ---- on my toes i let the person with me choose !! ![]() ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ my daughter has a part time job at dsw shoe store they have started selling nail polish near the register she has been wearing a color that i think looks great on her --she is VERY fair skinned-- she told me it cost $3. but that may mean with her discount not sure • N42 wrapped in clouds • anise • depends on room humidity but i think fairly quick • look at it this way if it rained10 minutes after you painted your house with oil paint you would freak out right ? • here • it is pretty

Just kidding.
Those are called duck feet nails, btw, and while I find them fascinating I can't imagine getting them. For reals:

^ ahh, toluene... *sniff* so that is why applying nail polish gives me some sort of indescribable satisfaction.
at the moment I'm 'unpolished' since I broke one of my fingernails and chopped off the rest of them. the most recent acquisition is miyo grape I can't exactly put my finger on why I like it. I never bother how long it takes to dry - I usually play a pc game while waiting. |

^The ones with the green-printed label on the bottom are supposed to be the three-free ones, but the bottles I have don't list all the ingredients, so I can't say for sure. If they are just using a different name for the same nasty thing, I will be annoyed.

^I found an answer to that question on Women's Voices for the Earth in the Science section:
"Q: I’ve read that O.P.I’s polishes do not contain and have never contained formaldeyhde. But I just bought an O.P.I. nail polish and read the ingredients, and it contains formaldehyde resin. Clearly O.P.I. is not as concerned about the health of their consumers as they so claim in their statement from 2007. A: Great to see that you are checking labels and eager to keep these companies on their toes! We had the same question for OPI a while ago, when we also noticed the inclusion of “formaldehyde resin” in their ingredients. Turns out, formaldehyde resin and formaldehyde are quite different things. While there is good science showing that formaldehyde exposure can lead to health problems (including cancer), formaldehyde resin does not appear to have the same effect. As I understand it, formaldehyde is used to make formaldehyde resin, but the resulting resin does not actually contain any formaldehyde. Here are two links to the Skin Deep Database describing the potential health impacts of these two ingredients: Formaldehyde resin: http://www.cosmeticsdatabase.com/ing...ngred06=702501 Formaldehyde: http://www.cosmeticsdatabase.com/ing...ngred06=702500 Thanks so much for your attention to detail. Hope this answers your question about OPI’s ingredients." |
