no - what happened was that i actually had to migrate through 2 servers to do this switch - the first happened 15 days a go - and involved upgrading to an OS that was supported, then i had to migrate everything over here. unfortunately the people at the old place never pointed the IP over to the new intermediate server, so all I could get access to was the original dump. although it would be technically possible to retrieve the lost data - i am at my wits end with these folks...

the worst an upgrade would do would to reset the templates (look and feel of the site)

I was guessing you encountered hitch in the process when it took a bit longer than the advertised 24hrs. eh...whats 15 days? np.
