That's my girl.....

"Shepherd's Purse Cheeses of Thirsk unveiled their new British style blue – Byland Blue – at last year’s British Cheese Awards. Handmade, in the time honored cheesemaking tradition originated by the Cistercian Monks at the local abbey, Byland Blue is the fifth blue cheese to join the company’s award-winning range.

Byland Blue is made from 100% Yorkshire cow’s milk and has a robust, full-bodied blue flavor with a firm, yet creamy texture and an easily crumbled white body marbled with greenish-blue veins. Slightly sharper than the other blue cheeses in the Shepherd's Purse range, Byland Blue has a tangy, piquant and slightly peppery flavour with a spicy aroma that complements a wide range of foods. Byland Blue can be easily identified by its traditional rind, giving it a rustic appearance.

Commenting on the new cheese, Judy Bell, managing director of Shepherd's Purse Cheeses said: “Nine centuries of tradition have gone into our new Byland Blue cheese. We are confident it will be a real hit with cheese lovers and the perfect new blue to cheese to try for Christmas.” "

Easy baby, there's more in the cupboard.....

"Oh those wacky Brits! It seems a year can't go by without them creating a wild new cheese - and to our delight! Royal Revenge is a layered cheese combining smooth and supple Sage Derby with brash and flavorful Shropshire Blue. A cheese that is green and orange had better be good, and believe us, this one is going to become quite popular indeed. The two cheeses combine to offer a strong visual statement and a palate pleasing flavor. Be the first in town to serve some up - it will be the hit of your next party. "

Just one more today for my cheesey baby....

"Winner of the 2001 Best Exported British Cheese Award, Stinking Bishop is a washed rind cheese dating back to the Cistercian monks who once settled in Dymock where this cheese is made. Washed in fermented pear juice (also called "Perry"), the cheese develops a stinky, pungent, orange-colored, sticky rind. Named after the Stinking Bishop pear varietal, this cheese is a spectacular dairy experience. "

Now, for a cigarette.....
