Portland, OR. - Fun Center Of the World. I'm amazed at all the fun I miss here. Like the Rose Festival - or the "Fun Center" at the Rose Festival - hoo boy, hold me back. As a pyro, I'm looking forward to the fireworks at the Blues Festival, though.

The fireworks are very cool. I like how the sounds echo off of the tall buildings downtown. I have watched them from the Eastside Esplanade for the past few years.

When I lived in London, we used to go up to Primrose Hill every November 5th for the Bonfire night fireworks. They'd have a huge bonfire going - loved it - and a fireworks display that went on for about half an hour - a long time standing in a park with your head tipped back going ooooh... ahhhh...!

4th July just isn't quite the same - for me bonfires and fireworks are forever autumn activities. Must be my pagan ancestry...
