The snow is too light and dry and blowy to build snowmen, and that makes me feel left out.

Oh, I feel sorry for you. It's such fun, getting creative with snow...

I could say I feel even more sorry for you now, but I'm not going to.

I feel full of grate.
Maybe I accidentally swallowed the cheese grater when I was making pizza.

I feel pain in my right wrist.

I feel less of a human for not having built any snow sculptures at all this winter

And then there were five…

I feel devastated again!
I woke up this morning to find that one of my six cute gerbils is dead (and half-eaten, too.)
I noticed there was some fervent activity going on last night, but I thought it was just because of springtime, hormones kicking in.
I don’t understand these little effing furry things. They’ve got plenty of food, juicy fruit and veggies, males, females. So what’s the problem?
If there is a further increase in this kind of activity, I’ll take it as a Very Bad Sign.

The Year of the Rat, oh, my!

^gerbils are territorial, especially if not related...might need more space.

Sometimes a gerbil takes it into his head that he just can't stand the other gerbil. From what I understand there isn't much to be said about this other than "lousy breeding" -- in truth, not a lot of attention tends to be paid to gerbil breeding and undesirable characteristics are free to diverge all over the place. For the size of enclosures most people have for rodents, ideally gerbils are kept in pairs from the same litter for the lifespan, same sex unless you like endless streams of baby gerbils. Ideally just means likelihood that they will get along throughout the natural lifespan. Towards the end of one of our gerbil pairs' lives they decided they hated each other, and started fighting. This is a sign that they need to be separated, because gerbils are entirely like us in that they don't seem to be able to work things out by simply expressing their feelings toward one another (thinly veiled attempt to remain on thread topic). Once they decide one is Axis and the other is Allies, depending on how much of the usual lifespan remains, separating may involve finding new pairings for them, introducing the new pair mates using a split cage method.
