Live In Concert...

Yesterday bought Ben Folds and the West Australian Orchestra's Live In Perth I have to tell you, it's a damn fine live concert dvd. It's gut wrenchingly awesome.

Favorite live in concert dvds anyone?

Much as I resisted the notion, Hell Freezes Over is very good.

Stevie Ray Vaughan Live from Austin is also pretty mesmerizing.

The Eminem Show from Detroit is fun one time around but not worth watching more than that.

Where did you see him Egg? Last I heard he had taken on an Australian bride and was no longer recording.

Ben Folds is an amazing inspirational musician. You can listen to his tunes any time, in a good mood or not, and he inspires, motivates. Only when music comes from the soul (an experience in verse) can it be that good.

About a year ago I was babysitting for three boys in a family; Jake (12), Shane (9) and Cole (5). Shane was currently taking piano lessons, and whwn driving the lot around for summer classes, sports, I played some Ben Folds for him, to convey what the jist of what a well- played piano and some talent could sound like. I had to turn the volume down for a couple adjectives, but i think it influenced the kid to think that piano lessons weren't that bad.

Any dork that knows the intimate way around an instrument or can write and piece together great lyrics is a sexy cat to me. Any person that can search out and appreciate such music is also a very cool cat...

Thanks for these posts.
