what are kids reading today? I see lot of Olivia the Pig on bookshelves, as well as whatever celebrity feels like cashing in on his or her name that week.

Interaction is the name of the game these days- with Leapfrog (man, I wish I had that growing up) and Dora the Explorer.

But the classics are still pretty strong, thanks mostly to parents and other adults who fell in love with the books of their own pasts and want to share the same magic with the children in their lives.

A couple of books that I MEANT to read when I was younger but never did were Island of the Blue Dolphins and the Redwall series.
