My exciting job involves preparing police officers to undergo the tribulation of communicating with foreigners (for example fining rich American tourists or giving haphazard directions towards places of interest).

Right now it's 5:30 over here, I've just waken up and realised I'll have to do something with this addiction to zefrank.com I have about 35 minutes to fix some kind of a breakbast and generally brace myself for the day and instead of that I'm typing away nonsensical things about myself to complete strangers.

Sorry, I forgot about the nick. These are words from the first document written in Hungarian. They are some words scribbled by a probably nervous priest who was to give a funeral speech. The words mean something like 'verily, dust and ashes.' In the original it is isa pur es chomuw. I don't know why I like them.

I can't seem to do anything about it. I'm a bit technically challenged, but I think I could manage to fill in sme information if there was anything to be filled in.

I suspect it's due to the fact that I'm a 'Registered User', denied any privileges that most of the highly creative people enjoy on this site.

^I think all the weirdness with the no way to set avatars and no profile and all is either a result of Ze setting some controls on new users in an effort to curb spam/trolls and then not having time to police them and let in the genuine users, or it's some bizarre part of the general board wonkiness over the last few months. Sometimes it's slow and doesn't load properly, various features seem to disappear periodically for some and then others...

I expect it will get sorted eventually. In the meantime, I propose we all pretend that we can see Ysa's avatar.

I think it's a plate of scrambled eggs.

Yeah, what's that all about -- it happens with all the new people. Is there a post threshhold they have to cross, or is it a moderator-action that is needed to make their pages accessible?

I don't think it is anything personal toward the new people. I think it's just a way of trying to avoid the 2007 roller-coaster. Give it some time. I can't speak for everyone, but so far I think you've been welcomed Ysapur.
