I bleeve being outed as an urban legend would disqualify the entry. I have one of the books around here somewhere, outlining all the "rules." Anyway, the site has a link for "Urban Legends" as well, so I'm sure they're aware of the propensity. Hard to have a site like that without people trying to pass off all kinds of whack as true.
I know people who dislike the Darwin Awards because they see them as mean-spirited. They're probably right, but I end up laughing anyway.
