Customs officers seize nativity scene made of cocaine
A nativity scene made of pure cocaine worth one million pounds has been
seized by Italian customs officials.
Custom officers at Rome's Leonardo da Vinci airport were immediately
suspicious of the three kilogram parcel from Peru.
Further analysis confirmed the nativity scene contained within the package
was manufactured entirely from the drug.
The recipient, a 50-year-old man from Rome, claimed it was "a unique artwork
from South America", according to police.
The manger and all the figures of the scene including an ox and a donkey
were carved out of blocks of pure cocaine.
