i know you all break the law.
some guy at my work today was talking about capital punishment and discpline for violaters of the law. he kept saying we should chop off criminals hands if they steal and execute them if they drive drunk and kill somebody
do you think we should take over a small country and ship all of our convicts over there or have capital punishment more or everything is just easy and glorious so keep it the same (i'm really bored so i'm just trying to start conversations wahhh) |

Hey, I'm all about harsh punishment. The only issue is innocence. Nooo.. the other issue is when to know when it's tolorable to issue the death penalty. Humbug. Otherwise, I'm all for capital punishment. Bring it on!!!
However, Fodder, if you do manage to get an island upon which to dump criminals, what would you call that island? ![]() (edited coz i can't spell innocence:P) |

This should really be in the Great Reads Thread, but "English Passengers" by Matthew Kneale is a very good novel about the early years of Australia. But it's not an historical novel in the usual sense. Quite an extraordinary book, IMHO.

Never mind lopping their hands off, let's do scientific experiments on them... then they can be useful.
