And then there was money
I mailed off a $50 rebate for my phone in October and just now got the rebate. The thing is, I got some letter a couple of months ago saying I couldn't receive the rebate for some reason. Life is good.

The dream came true except you had to pay for it. Is it a flat screen monitor?

Sweet, I told myself I was going to buy one if I went to Vegas again for work. It looks like that will happen. Let's see if I buy the monitor.

Is between $450 - $500 a reasonable price for a 17" flatscreen monitor?

There used to be a Futureshop back home. Then they moved out of the US. They're all Best Buys here.

Cheap prices!
I don't like the sound of this though: # Notes: # LCD displays may have cosmetic imperfections that appear as small bright or dark # spots. This is common to all LCD displays used in products by all vendors and is # not specific to any one vendor or brand. Below are the acceptable amounts # of "dot defects" for LCD displays that we sell: * 17-Inch to 18-Inch: * Total Defects: 8 * Bright or Dark Dots (random): 4 * Bright or Dark Dots (2 adjacent): 2 * Bright or Dark Dots (3 adjacent): 0 * Minimum distance between defects: 15mm (bright to bright dots): 5mm (dark to * dark dots) They say it's normal though. I don't know. |

I got the NEC 17" flat panel for my spouse for his birthday in April. No flaws yet. Typically, if they are not there when you get it, they ain't coming, though of course there are always exceptions. They say that in very fast-paced action games there is sometimes a halo following movement, since the pixels are a little slower to turn off, but some say they can see it and some say they can't.
