Question Thanksgiving in NYC

Dear Ze

I'm spending a little time in NYC over the holiday period & thought you might be able to help me out (if you have a few minutes to spare) with some fun/cheap stuff to do while I'm there

Thanx millions

In terms of art:

P.S.1 in Queens
MoMA Qns
get on this list: http://nonsensenyc.com/ for underground happenings while you are here.

music:
Jazz is the best that NY has to offer reliably en masse.
http://www.ny.com/clubs/jazz/

comedy:
go to any weekend show at Upright Citizene Brigade http://www.ucbtheatre.com
(cheap and high quality) - especially the Sunday A$$$Cat show.

bars:
NY dive bars are the best: Hog Pit, The Edge Bar, Hogs n' Heffers, Lucy's, Hi-Fi, Ace Bar.
personally I have a long standing love love affair with the East Village.

food:
overwhelming choices...I'll just recommend one though:
Dok Suni on 1st Ave and 8th - amazing Korean food.

have fun

LCW - the few of us that hooked up in NYC a few months ago spent a substantial amount of time at the Red Light Lounge (also in the East Village)... you might want to pop in, find Big Daddy and introduce yourself as a fellow Zemonkey You never know - it might earn you a free drink...
On the other hand, it might earn you a strange look and a sidling away... can't tell from here...

It's hard to fit it all in. Bring supremely comfortable walking shoes - unless you want to taxi everywhere

Bagel World is in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn. on Court and Bergen

and although they make very good bagels, Manhattan offers up some excellent bagels - try any Hot n Crusty

As a general rule I tend to avoid city centres cos that's where all the tourists & therefore all the thieves go & not just the pick pocket kind either LOL
