I thought it was good as pure action film, but there really wasn't a whole lot of substance to it. It was like watching a huge, overwrought, technically gorgeous, character-devoid TV episode, of one of the more mindless SF series. Fun, and a fine conclusion, but not really all that memorable. One review I read put it like this: "It's like having a dessert of Pop Rocks after a dinner of filet mignon." I agree.
