LOS ANGELES, California (Reuters) -- Los Angeles officials have asked that manufacturers, suppliers and contractors stop using the terms "master" and "slave" on computer equipment, saying such terms are unacceptable and offensive.

The request -- which has some suppliers furious and others busy re-labeling components -- came after an unidentified worker spotted a videotape machine carrying devices labeled "master" and "slave" and filed a discrimination complaint with the county's Office of Affirmative Action Compliance.

It reminds me of a story I heard about a high ranking federal employee using the word niggardly (meaning stingy or unwilling to part with anything), and then being forced to apologize for using this word, and went through disiplinary action, after someone complained about him using this word. People are idiots.

See if that changes the mainstream public perception of race-baiting and unfair affirmative action. Slavery was not limited to Africans either...And it's not like I don't empathize with blacks on how some are treated today, and how most were treated in the past. But this just embarasses the community even more than then how they're usually perceived...Which is basically as a potentially dangerous joke...

Guess C&H is next with their "Brown Sugar" label: IT BE OFFENSIVACIOUS TA SISTAHS!

You know, I am gay, and it REALLY offends me that I am forced to plug a 'male' port into a 'female' port.....This will destroy my love for technology for ever!
