There are many dive bars in Long Beach Califorina, but only two can called originals. The Anex on Lakewood and Sterns has been open for 45 years. It has not had any changes made to the inside since the 1970s. Not even the neon sign out side has been fix over the last 20 years. $2.50 get you a large schooner and $3.20 get you an even larger one (fish bowl size). Dick and Fays is the other bar that is a true original dive. 7th and Redondo next to the Bistro, this little dive has been opperated by Fay only since her husband Dick pasted away 10+ years ago. It only opens after ten. Please leave a tip but understand that she wont take any money herself because all money goes to charrities. If you want something trendy, you dont have to look very far in Long Beach. Every little dive that had any charm has been bought and turned into the next trendy place to be. The Reno Room, and all the Bars on Second street may be your call.
