help

I am looking for an airline ticket from Venice, Italy to America for my source of frustration... we have worked out our differences once and for all and we want to give it one last shot. The problem is this... I can't find one for under a grand. Any suggestions? I have tried travelocity and expedia and the airlines direct and using all of my frequesnt flyer miles and just about everything I can think of. I figured you guys might have some insight.

america is pretty big. where is the trip going? what airports? is air-train maybe an option?

edited to add: oh, and i need dates of travel of course. can't search without those.

edited to add something else: will this be a one-way trip or what??

The dates are flexible too, but we want to get her here near the end of January

As far as one way, essentially it is one way but I have found that it is half the cost if we get a round trip ticket... where is the sense in that?

if your GF is not a USA resident, she isn't even allowed into the country without a return ticket. she's allowed to stay 60 days. if you get caught after that, she will not be able to return to the USA ever. keep that in mind!

if that is the case, go with the round trip, one way tickets automatically profiles you as a possible terrorist....

Check into charter flights, I know a lot of them come in and go out of new york. Basically corporations buy a bunch of seats so they can ship a bunch of stuff on the flight..then they sell the seats for cheap....

ok i did a short search with random dates in january. most flights enter the usa at dulles airport in washington. the ticket tracker i used doesn't recognize rapid city so i searched on dulles instead.

cheapest i could find to dulles:

EUR 564.00 + tax EUR 82.67
you fly with KLM
Venice -> Amsterdam 11 Jan 06:30 - 08:55 Economy KL 1650
-> Washington Dulles Intl 11 Jan 11:35 14:35 Economy NW 8651

maybe you can search dulles -> rapid city yourself, i'm going to check out some other websites!
