no, she needs a work permit first. work permits are only given to people that can do jobs that americans can't do, or to people that are sent by their company. you don't get a work permit if you go to america without having a job, but there's no company that will hire you without you having a work permit!

she could go there to study though. but she'll have to prove that she has a big ass bank account!

if she applies for american citizenship things will be different, but i don't know how that works.

remember, if she breaks the rules and gets caught, she can never enter the usa again (not even for a vacation) so be very careful and since you know about it, you can get into trouble as well.

maybe the army can do something for you!

edited to add: she can work if she is studying i think

Have you considered booking passage on a freighter...it is a slow way to travel...but apparently rather cheap.
Most cargo ships have some accomodations that can be booked. The food is simple...usually their is a crew recreation room that can be used.
You would have to pick her up in NYC or some other East coast port.

Just a thought.

Actually, those freighter passages, although frequent on the Atlantic, can cost as much or more than a plane ticket. Not to mention the time loss and the huge potential for not arriving where you want to.

Fun for if you want to pretend to rough it on the sea, but other than that, cargo surfing can be a pain in the ass.
