She is croation but she was born and raised in Italy, so official she is from the EU.
I don't know what I am going to do... but if it get's serious you are all invited. |

no, she needs a work permit first. work permits are only given to people that can do jobs that americans can't do, or to people that are sent by their company. you don't get a work permit if you go to america without having a job, but there's no company that will hire you without you having a work permit!
she could go there to study though. but she'll have to prove that she has a big ass bank account! if she applies for american citizenship things will be different, but i don't know how that works. remember, if she breaks the rules and gets caught, she can never enter the usa again (not even for a vacation) so be very careful and since you know about it, you can get into trouble as well. maybe the army can do something for you! edited to add: she can work if she is studying i think |

Have you considered booking passage on a freighter...it is a slow way to travel...but apparently rather cheap.
Most cargo ships have some accomodations that can be booked. The food is simple...usually their is a crew recreation room that can be used. You would have to pick her up in NYC or some other East coast port. Just a thought. |
