Anyone Ever Make A 10 Year Plan? (questions)

What is your ten year plan?

How many times have you tweaked it?

Are you in the middle of implementing yours?

How are you doing so far?

Are you satisfied with the results of your planning yet?

What is your ten year plan?

two/three years: credit card bills/random debts /car paid off
five years: either business school or buying a house...possibly both
eight years: owner of either an italian cafe/restaurant or a bed and breakfast
ten years: adopt a child

How many times have you tweaked it?

first time I've made one...ever

Are you in the middle of implementing yours?

n/a

How are you doing so far?

paying off the bills...starting a budget pretty soon

Are you satisfied with the results of your planning yet?

n/a

The only plans I have ever made have been in the one year range, i.e. buy a house or car.
The only long range plan I have at the moment is retirement.
I am currently looking into plots of land in West Texas. I will have my own observatory. My house will be solar powered. I haven't worked out how much will be solar powered, but with all the sun in out there, I'd be stupid to not take advantage of it.

If you did know, you could adopt a Jamaican accent and charge $3.99 a minute.

I tried this once when I was about 22... forgot about it and woke up 10 years later to find I was a completely different person to whom the former plan didn't apply.
I kind of try to project into the future what I'd like to be and then try to make choices and take action accordingly... but man, do I have to be flexible. The only thing that's been consistent in my life has been unpredicted change... growing awareness of that has been useful.

maybe we should plan not to plan

now that I tink about it, I do more research than planning.
