Zen, I'm going to make you feel better about doing the laundry. Close your eyes and go to your happy place...
Picture your dirty laundry...
Now visually add to your laundry the dirty clothes of another
adult, 3 children, 3 bathrooms worth of towels, sheets,
blankies, let your mind fill the hampers... stay with this
this for a moment. Take in the greatness you see before
you.

Take 3 deep cleansing breaths and visualize just your own
laundry again...
FEEL BETTER?

Let me know when you're doing ironing k?

Oh, you may open your eyes now.

I can't believe birth control and laundry. Archaic horrible things.

How can I spend so much time folding. Its not so much the putting things in right, I can do that, it isn't even the waiting for everything to come out.

It's the anal retentive catching of the shirts before they get wrinkled, and the endless folding of the same towels over and over and over again, until they go in the rag bag.

And what's with those damn white shirts and black trim? How the hell am i sposed to get a white shirt with black trim clean? I bought a bleach pen, here's to you, clorox, you can be responsible for this one.

And thanks, Ralph Lauren, for making that red and blue striped shirt with the white collar. I agree that he looks nicest in that one, but hell, didn' t you think for one minute where I'd have to wash that one? I washed it with darks and the collar turned instantly grey. Next time make your white collar removable, ok? We don't all dry clean our kids shirts.

Oh, man, and those gol-damned pants that zip off and make shorts. What the hell am i sposed to do with one bottom half. Where the hell is the other one? did the dryer eat it? and am i sposed to put the bottom clean halves in with the dirty ones so that they all age at the same time? Where's the directions?

Don't even get me started on socks.

Hey Aud I think I have the other leg to those zip-off pants over at my place. I found 1 loner zipped-off leg in my wash that didn't even belong to pants we own! Course my kids say it belongs to "wasn't me".

And another thanggg...when you figure out how to zip those farkers back on let me know ok?

Hmmm, I see that you haven't been pleasing the sock monster. Heres what you do; Make sure that theres cold beer in the fridge at all times. The sock monster will feed from the beer making him happy and content and therefore not eating many socks.
If that doesn't help, getting a big screen TV and Playstation 2 usually cures it. This will keep the sock monster occupied all night and in combination with cold beer this is a powerful combination.

Good luck!

laundry. i only do laundry for one person: me. and i have darks, whites and mediums. and then there is all that hand washing, all that lingerie, darks, whites and colors, hang dry, and the lambswool sweater, hand wash, blocking and dry flat, and you can't hang dry all those unmentionables on a clothesline outside (what would the neighbors think) so there it hangs all over the house making it look like i live in a bordello, and then putting it all away, those things do not stay folded, not like there is that much there to fold, looks like a piles of strings in the drawer, won't stay organized by color like i like it to be. i spend way too much time on clothes

- black cotton laundry (socks, towels, cotton shirts, cheap underwear) to be washed hot
- black synthetic laundry and other fabrics
- mixed/white cotton laundry (towels, stuff you use in the kitchen, socks)
- white t-shirt laundry
- red mixed laundry (mixed, underwear)
- bed sheets laundry
- light blue laundry (sweaters)
- beige/green synthetic laundry (pants, shirts, underwear)

hmm.. that's a lot of laundry!

I was up till 2:30am this morning doing laundry and I am still not done!! My mom will be here at 9pm!!!! GAH!

We have two washers and two dryers for everybody to share in this complex...half the time they dont work, or you put your quarters and soap in only to realize that somebody has left it with about a minute left on the spin cycle...bugger, the dryers all dry to hot so everything shrinks, we buy clothes to big now. The delicate dry is absolutely useless, I think it just flings the clothes around and thats it.

We gotta be out of here in March and my only requirment is that we have our own washer and dryer...that will be heaven!!

Nico bought me one of these for Xms, I used it, but if you don't have that sucker tied down, it walks...I put it on the back porch and feel like Aunt Bea in Mayberry. It works for throw rugs and rags, but what a pain to drain and fill!
