What am I going to do now?

a thread for the next step. post your plans. if you have no plans but need 'em, ask for advice.

so, i just lost my job yesterday and i have all this cheap airfare coming my way in March. i think i'm gonna start looking at some temporary theatre stuff, visiting schools, and applying for jobs in other places.

Sorry to hear DV8 ... I get your crappy day comment from yesterday now

I think your ideas are good - get back on the horse - but if you can combine that stuff with visits to friends or to places where you can do things that make you happy, I think that would really help. Give yourself a little break, you know?

Something will turn up!

I think if you have the means to do so, do it. I don't know you at all, but it sounds like you don't have kids/spouse tying you down, so I say go for it.

My plans? I'm going shopping for our Oscar Party & then sending out resumes. After that I might clean the house.

Professionally? Ah, who knows.

due to the navy's ties to the adult entertainment industry? i'm sure dinz can get you some meetings with some *cough* prominent directors he knows without you having to enlist in the service...

Sorry, there was a roundabout logic on that...

since I'm currently unemployed, I've been looking at ALL the options available to me.

if I'm looking for a somewhat stable, financially rewarding yet interesting career path... the adult entertainment industry gives very little in the way of new skills and growth. the Navy offers new skills, stable employment for a while, but then I'd be on a navy ship for nine to twelve months out of the year working for a mission I may not necessarily agree with.

and both would place me in a position that I would find hard to reconcile in my mind of being the best use of my time, even though both are currently hiring.

nah, I think I'll pass. start-up costs would probably dictate that I'd have to star some of my initial productions.

and I get cold very quickly.

this gland will stay tightly-wrapped, thank you.
