I need good luck tomorrow!
Well, here it is. The day is arriving soon. I am getting baptized, confirmed, and first eucharist tomorrow night at 7:00 p.m. I tried on my new dress, no problem there, but the shoes, I am very worried about. I practiced walking around in the shoes. Please pray for me dear zemonkeys, that I don't trip and fall on my face. The shoes are fairly low, but I am use to boots or tennis shoes...Hopefully the practice pays off tomorrow night. Happy Easter!

Bring a snorkel. Some of those preachers keep you under for longer than 3 minutes... just to make sure you're not a witch.

Are you going to wear booties? I think the best Baptists wear rubber booties.

Audrey and Cat,
I guess I am certified and a certifiable card carrying Catholic now. All my sins were washed away Saturday night with my baptism. Whew, 36 years of sinning....What a relief I am counting up my sins now, and so far, I have lied twice, and cursed a half a dozen times. However, I have not committed murder, adultry, or worshiped false idols yet, well unless you consider watching tv worshipping false idols.Seriously, it is one of the best things I have done, and I am glad I committed myself to this venture. It has brought me peace. Well enough of being mushy.... |

For many years, I have felt that something has been missing in my life, despite the fact that I have a good job, and friends, and family that love me, something was missing.
I attended church from the time I was 12 to the time I was 18, and then life happened, and I stepped away from it. I found myself to be increasingly unhappy over the past several years, and my best friend took me back to the catholic church about a year ago. After a few services, I felt so at ease, after I left. I would go into mass, angry, and tense, and then, a peace would settle over me during the service. That is when I decided, I would like this sense of peace all of the time, and made the committment to be baptized, and join the church. I think just believing in a higher being than one's self, can really help. I tried to control everything in my life, and you know what? I could not. Having God to pray to helps. I have let go of being a control freak, and I leave it up to God. I am not a bible thumper by any means, and maybe some people may think I am being weak by giving my problems up to God. But, I don't care what others think, I am at peace with myself, and can finally sleep at night. I don't worry anymore, my life is in God's hands. Klynne, aka, bible thumper ![]() |
