Attn: teachers
They're looking for 7,000 new hires in NYC for this fall. There's pretty good incentive programs too.
Just thought I'd put the word out there for those of you who teach. Cheers. |

It looks really good ... and can't beat the slogan
![]() I'm from Canada, so it's hard for me to visualize what those salaries actually mean. They look low, but I imagine that the cost of living may be lower (but in NYC, surely not)? Taxes certainly are lower ... but things that I take for granted, like medical care/insurance are extra costs. Anyone have a resource that compares cities / countries and cost of living and all that? |

I just checked the salaries, yep, they're low. Anything under $40 is hard to survive here. But a lot of people do it.
I know I've read that they have incentive programs, and I know they hire Canucks. Health care would be provided I believe. Oops, I meant homefair.com! has a salary calculator. |

JESUS MURPHY!
I apparently have it better than I thought up here in Vancouver, Canada. I would apparently have to make six figures in New York or San Francisco ... holy crap. That's scary. I know those are two high cost o' living cities, but here, I live in a one bedroom apartment - renting, mind you - and at my current salary / projected future salary if I stay in this job, there is no way I will be able to afford a house where I live. A little condo, maybe. Yikes. |
