I do mine each year with turbotax.com. Not sure how much H&R charges, but turbo is online, it efiles for you and walks you through everything so you don't miss anything, and it cost me uh, for state and fed $40.

Plus it keeps your previous years' files online, so when you file the following year, it remembers numbers you'll need.

I got my refund from the feds in 9 days. It took longer to get back from the state.

I know, that is what I usually do..but with the move and being on dial up and everything happening so fast....

This was the first time I ever used H & R Block..it cost $60, but they took care of everything in no time flat and I get my check tomorrow...1-2 days to get your check...totally worth it and all I had to do was provide my signature.

The lady that ended up doing them turned out to be an ex San Bernadino cop..now she does taxes...cool lady. She new about a new federal job here that just opened up and even had all the paper work and application for it and gave it all to J.

WOW!

And a fat refund!!

woo hoo!

Double check those refunds Zen. The one to two day thing isn't a refund, it's a short term loan in lieu of your refund. We ran stories about it. Most times the refund loan matches the actual refund, but sometimes the gov't gives you more and H&R never tells you. And come to think about it, the places that were sketchy weren't H&R .. but they justify any overage as an interest fee you pay for getting the money up front -- or something like that (we ran the story a couple of months back, can't remember exactly, my bad).

I did write this somewhere else but I am proud of me for it and wanted to reinforce my good (finally) behaviour.

Last Friday I walked into the tax office and said..."I'd like to do my taxes."

Then I handed over the T4s and receipts etc. for 2000, 2001, 2002, and 2003. Ever see a tax guy poop?

They owe me, so it shouldn't be a real problem.
