AOL is like the unpleasant family member I don't really like, but that I can't seem to dump because they are my family.
But in this particular case, I'm to blame. See my thread. ![]()

When I first started my biz and got into the habit of emailing stuff, it soon became apparent that there was only a 60% or so chance that my emails would arrive to AOL clients...cuz I wasn't sending from AOL I assume was the problem...how dare I!!!
If I sent an art file attached to an email there was something like a 75% chance that it would be corrupted or changed into an AOL Stuff file which turns out to function more like a file compactor, as in trash compactor. I learned to prestuff any art file into WinZip or it would be killed by AOL. A client of mine had to spend over an hour on the phone trying to reach someone to bitch them out for the sporadic delivery of non-AOL emails, then that problem seemed to go away.... ... .. . Ass hOLes |

there used a joke about what the difference was between herpes and AOL..it was something along the lines of : herpes ends when you die. AOL hangs onto subscribers like they are indentured slaves. I learned from other people's mistakes on this one and never signed up..It is one of the few correct choices I have made

I have dsl now, but I had (still have) aol for so long that it is hard to get everything switched. I don't use it as much because it is ALOT slower, but everyone knows my email (had the same one for about 5 yrs). I just need to cut the apron strings.
![]() geez i cant spell today!!!

My dad got some kind of deal w/AOL through work, which is how I got this computer. It was supposed to be $3/month for one year. But of course, they charged me $24.95/month for a year, no matter how much I argued w/them.
When the year was up, I tried to cancel w/them several different times. Their customer service number where you get to talk to a real person was almost impossible to get. And when I did finally get it, the person asked me why I was leaving, tried to talk me out of it, etc. But I finally got them to cancel it. They still send me begging letters every once in awhile, asking me to come back.

Actually they make better coasters than dew collectors...but the art on them sucks too. I suppose they would make decent non-lethal warning shurikens . ![]() Earthlink at least tried to make their coasters look cool. |
