ARGH!!!!!
http://abcnews.go.com/sections/2020/..._040426-1.html
I am so freakin mad that it is not even funny. I heard about this on the radio on my way to work and my veins swelled and my heart thickened. I was about to stop my car on the freeway, get out and start screaming at people. Fark all of these self righteous aspwipes that portray themselves as "doing people a favor" to get rating or who knows what. Out of all the people in the world Barbara Walters should know what she is messing with here. She herself has an adopted daughter and should know how painfully difficult it is for everyone involved no matter how "well" the adoption went. This is a child’s life. A child that from the day they are born is forsaken, for one reason or another, and even with the best intentions, this child will experience something so traumatic and utterly incomprehensible. Then they have the gall to make a TV special out of it. This isn't a circus animal. This is a child of God. Wow. Reproduction should be banned until further notice. and I'm done. |

I think this is an awesome topic for discussion. Should we maybe ask Ze to move this to the "Debate" forum?
BTW - I agree with you.

I'd say it's official. Nothing is out of bounds anymore.
I gotta say more. I agree with both of you on this. Have we become so decadent as a people that we'll watch anything for entertainment? When are we going to allow public executions again? How about torturing prisoners, innocent or guilty, who cares? It'd put the fear of god into criminals wouldn't it? Why not give it a try? I may never watch television again. ABC especially. They're the Stanley Cup channel this year and I don't give a flying fark. I can find out the results in the newspaper... (Edited to add comments...rant n' rave over now...) Isn't that nice?? a 16 year old playing God. You don't even want to know what I think should be done.

"20/20 cameras were there last October when the competition for Jessica's baby began..."
Competion? COMPETION?! How utterly despicable. It's weird, too, that this girl AND her family want to play a "role" in the babies life, but not be responsible for it. Having a child isn't a half-a**ed commitment. It's not a pet you can play with until you get bored or don't want to spend the money or time on it anymore. What total idiots. And so is Barbara Walters for perpetuating the idea of marketing human beings. I'm done now, too. ![]()

Adoptive parents pay a lot of money for the baby. Attorney expenses, all of the birth entities medical bills, and then the childs medical bills. But, I do not think that the birth entities profit in anyway. If I find out otherwise, I going to Wal-mart to buy me a shotgun.

Where is the baby's dad?? If he doesn't sign off or hasn't been told..the adoption is null and void.

Lets give each couple a rose as they are voted off the list. Each couple has to pass tests each week. At the end the winner gets a million dollars and a baby. In a unique twist...The pregnant girl may decide to keep the baby...Complications may arise as our film crews crowd the delivery room. In a secret twist the unborn child's father is disquised and competing with a paid stand in. If he wins the baby he will be awarded 2 million dollars. Stay tuned.
