Rumsfeld/terror alerts

How can this man live with himself? I mean even in the interviews, you can see how uncomfortable he is ... so we have the prisoner abuse fiasco and suddenly we get another "terror alert" ... "we don't know where, but it'll happen over the summer" ... anyone else getting tired of these? That's a hell of a long time to be tense ... and the fact that they're not naming potential target cities, eh, EVERYONE'S in danger. Bah.

And convenient that it's buildup for the fall elections. Color me cynical. Particularly when these terror alerts serve to "remind" the American people that Rumsfeld is doing his job.

I just think with all the lies that have come out the White House, I'm enraged to think they're using this as a diversion ploy ... it's a sick joke, if that's what it is, to worry people this way.

I'm going to go back through old articles and see exactly when the timing of the previous alerts have been -- whether it coincides with the scrutiny of the administration.

I hate that I'm even thinking this way about an administration that is running one of the most powerful nations in the world. It shouldn't be this way.

how perfectly does this line up with "the little boy who cried 'wolf'?"

i'm right there with ya... it would suck if there really was a threat... but this is how completely the administration has squandered our trust.

Wow, that was my impression exactly, and when Bink heard him on PBS, I was tellin him that they made it up to justify their existence and to divert attention from their ineptitude. I don't have any idea whether Bink understood me or not, but he must have understood the voice coming over the radio that said "Al Kaeda will attack in the next 3 months" GAH

Odd thing to me is when Ashcroft stated that an Al Qaeda "representative" stated publicly that they were 90% ready for an attack inside the United States.
What, did the "representative" hold a Press Conference? Is he hoping for a book deal? Was there a photo op after his announcement?
Also, if they did such a good job rounding up the Al Qaeda ops living in the US after 9/11 and the screening process we use in letting people into this country is working so well, why are they now saying there are Al Qaeda ops living in the US prepared for these attacks?

I saw that. If I were President, Lewis Black would be my Press Secretary!

You should listen to the new David Cross standup. He talks all about this.
