my oldest was huge when he was a baby. our pediatrician told us "there's such a thing as baby fat, but this is a fat baby." he was the first grandchild in my in-laws family and he was pretty cute if you gave him a cookie... so... the doc had us put him on a no-fat yogurt and salad diet. by the time he was 3 he was fit and fine.

Oh man! The poor kid.

But who am I to talk? I was born with a hole in my heart, and while every other freakin' kid got to eat mac n' cheese and peanut butter sandwiches for lunch, I got a big huge honkin' ass bowl of cooked peas and carrots. I hate peas, so I soon learned to take a mouthful and swallow them whole with a gulp of milk -- shooting my friends a dirty look for getting the "good lunch" whenever they ate over.

However, by age 12, the hole sealed up on its own.

There's fat babies, then there's dangerously fat babies. If that baby walked into our clinic today our Endocrinologists would have him in the hospital in a second. He is in serious danger.

The doctors ordered my mom to stop nursing me because I got way to fat. I guess I had rolles on my arms and legs even..kinda like the michelin man...but I guess being on the swimming team as a kid straightened that all out....
