These rules are simple: Six trochaic lines WITH THE LAST UNACCENTED SYLLABLE DROPPED: Four trochees (TUM ta / TUM ta / TUM ta / TUM) Four trochees Two trochees (TUM ta / TUM) Four trochees Four trochees Two trochees AABCCB rhyme scheme: Lines 1 and 2 rhyme Lines 4 and 5 rhyme Lines 3 and 6 rhyme Remember to drop the last, unaccented syllables of each line!! EXAMPLE: "The Last Leaf" - Oliver Wendell Holmes And if I should live to be The last leaf upon the tree In the spring, Let them laugh, as I do now At the old, foresaken bough When I cling EASY, RIGHT? Yes, of course, and with SO MANY possibilities. Humor me! Here's another example with the accents emphasized: This is Hayakujo's Hell Knew he did t'would come, and well Let's be frank Smarty's sick in his pursuits Monkeys scowl yet bear them fruits on zefrank (farkin' piece o' cake!!) --------------- I do not expect, dear friends
