my mom's hwhack

Lauren,

I went to google and you have the barbequed shrimp recipe posted online. Lauren, I don't really want it online. I like having
this special little recipe... Can you take it off the website? Just go to google and type your name in and it will come up.

I hope you had a fun weekend.

Love,
Mom

How did your family get our family's secret BBQ Shrimp recipe?!?!!?!?!

WE'VE HAD THAT ONE IN OUR FAMILY FOR 75 YEARS!!!

*starts blood feud with Fodd's family*

Seriously, my family's been making it for as long as I can remember. The trick is to not overcook it... shrimp are delicate little buggers and they get rubbery if you're not careful. Also, it's cool to use shrimp with the heads still on for that just caught effect.

The recipe is not _that_ unique... if you google for not your name but for "barbecue shrimp", you get several^Wmany many similar ones like this , this , this , this , and this .

So you have a choice: explain to your mother that The Internet is the great equalizer of family recipes and that nothing culinary is sacred any more, or you can salve her sensibilities and sense of shrimpy individuality and humor her. Realize that google will cache it for a while even if you delete it.

I'd leave it up, as nobody in their right mind would save a recipe that cooks the dogsnot out of shrimp.

maybe she didn't think the "Preheat the oven 400 degrees, bitchez." was appropriate for her recipe....

yeah, I thought the same thing when I made it....but for some reason..it doesn't dry the shrimp out or make it rubbery or anything....

The girl might not know how to masturbate...but she can cook some shrimp!

This made me laugh so hard even Rat Man thought there was something wrong.

I finally got some celery salt a while back. I have GOT to try this shrimp... especially b/c normally I feel about like Aud when it comes to shrimp.
